Nigerian professional Golfer, Sunday Olapade, wins Kwara Open Golf tourney

Top Nigerian professional golfer, Sunday Olapade has won the Kwara Open Golf Championship, which attracted players from the West Africa sub-region to the Ilorin Golf Club. For his efforts, Olapade, who described his victory as a dream come true, won the lion share of the 5 million naira purse with his brilliant 277, 11 under par over 72 holes.

He defeated Ghana’s Emos Korblah by five shots to the second place, while Lagos-based Chidi Tobias tied Abuja-based Oche Odoh for the third place. Speaking at the end of the competition, Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) President, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola commended the Kwara State government for their efforts in developing the game of golf.
