Nigeria Customs Service Oyo/Osun Area Command seize over 4,000 bags of smuggled rice

The Oyo/Osun area command of the Nigerian Customs Service has once again reiterated the commands zero tolerance against smuggling activities, charging smuggler’s to relocate from the region or face the full wrath of the law. The comptroller, Christopher Odiba gave this charge during a press briefing while showcasing the commands achievements in recent time. Comptroller Odiba said the command through its intelligence gathering mechanism made fifteen seizures of various degrees with duty paid value worth over ninety two million naira and an arrest of one of the perpetrators.

The comptroller said the seizures were made at different locations within the commands area of coverage especially along Opara /Bode Musa axis of Iwajowa local government are of Oyo state. While expressing his displeasure on the adamant attitude of Nigerians towards stopping smuggling activities, he advised all unpatriotic Nigerians who engage in smuggling of used cars, foreign rice and other contraband goods to desist from such act and find other legitimate means of business.
