Oyo State House of Assembly appeals to Governor Ajimobi for payment of pensioners entitlements

The Oyo State House of Assembly has adopted resolutions in a motion moved by Honorable Biliaminu Azeez, representing Ona Ara local government at the house appealing to the executive arm of government to consider the state pensioners in the payment of their entitlements.

The house presided over by the speaker, Honorable Michael Adeyemo adopted the resolutions yesterday during the plenary session after the house received and deliberated on the motion titled “A passionate appeal to his Excellency, Senator Abiola Ajimobi for the payment of Oyo state pensioners entitlements”.

The lawmaker raised concerns that many of the pensioners require adequate feeding and medical care which cannot be met, hence calling on the state government to consider this set of resident once the next tranche of bailout fund id received.

In the same vein, he implored the state government to conduct a replica of the screening exercise for pensioners in order to checkmate the activities of ghost workers.

However the speaker, while adopting the resolves in the motion passed the matter to the house committee on labour and establishment to meet with the two pension’s board in the state for further deliberations and findings.
